Ahhhh, Restaurant Week. An ongoing celebration of the many restaurants offered not just in New York City, but in our biggest borough, Queens. This annual festival began nine years ago with just a handful of local restaurants that were interested on putting their food up to the tastes of the residents. Since then, there are now over 100 participating restaurants from the borough.
You can receive either a lunch or dinner menu by contacting the restaurants that are participating and deciding which one you would like to eat at. Each participator will feature a Prix Fixe menu: $25 for an appetizer, entree and also dessert. That's easy on the wallet, but if that weren't incentive enough to get out and enjoy a highly discounted meal in these hard economic times, for each paying adult, kids will eat for free. So this gives you an opportunity to go out with the family, enjoy time together, get a night off of cooking and help to promote and jump start some of these local businesses as well.
This enjoyable fest will be offered September 20-23rd, and then September 27th-30th (Monday-Thursday). Note that these prices will not be available weekends unless a specific restaurant agrees to it.
There will be food offered from Italian to Greek; Chinese to Indian; American to Polish. Below are some examples of participating restaurants. Some of these are my personal favorites.
